Placemakers is an interdisciplinary and creative team for urban activation. We work to create inclusive and lively urban spaces. Through research, design, and by organizing participation processes we co-develop places with residents, entrepreneurs and other local parties.

Placemakers aims to improve public spaces by co-envisioning and co-creating with the neighborhood. We work primarily in the Netherlands,  but also in Kenya and beyond. For example by organizing an event such as ‘De Buurtcamping’ (The Neighborhood Camp Site), by experimenting with creative research and participation methods, or by adopting Minecraft as a participatory planning strategy for development of a ‘Model Street’. METHOD

Using the method of Placemaking we invigorate neighborhood networks based on their own strength. Through various steps we provide local stakeholders with the necessary tools to develop their own neighborhood. Read more about our method here.
