Living room for ideas

To what extent can young people design a space themselves? What is the added value of actually building an object? And can young people function as ambassadors for a neighborhood project?

Placemakers is organizer of the Project Space ‘Activating Urban Voids’, an intensive week of stimulating knowledge exchange among European urban development and placemaking studios. Three selected studios investigated methods of involving young people in their neighborhood. By giving tours, designing and building an object and assembling local wishes for the programming, the studios co-developed a temporary neighborhood space on the Waterlandplein, Amsterdam North.
